Newsflash for FamS Members: EIPP Data Collection

Early Intervention and Placement Prevention (EIPP) Update - December 2011

The following update was sources from the FaCS website.

As outlined in the October 2011 EIPP program update, agreement was reached between the peaks, sector stakeholders and Community Services staff, to introduce the EIPP data collection tools in stages. The data collection tools for Intensive Family Support (IFS) and Intensive Family Preservation (IFP) were made available for data collection to commence by 1 November 2011 for IFS/IFP services.

It was anticipated that the data collection tools for Child, Youth and Family Support (CYFS) services would be introduced for data collection to commence by 1 January 2012, however further time is required to finalise and test the CYFS tools. This additional time will allow a sample of service providers to test the new tools, before they are introduced to the sector as a whole.

Community Services intends to distribute the data collection tools at the end of January 2012 for CYFS service providers to commence data collection by 1 February 2012. Community Services will advise service providers once the tools have been finalised and are available. Service providers will be able to download the CYFS data collection tools from the Community Services website.

Assistance using the CYFS data collection tools will be provided by phone and email once the tools are available. Contact details will be provided with the tools. Assistance using the IFS/IFP data collection tools will continue to be provided for IFS/IFP services by phone and by email.

IFS and IFP services should note that minor changes will be made to the existing data collection tools, based on feedback provided by the sector to date. More information about the implementation of these changes will be provided to services shortly.

Service providers are reminded that no EIPP service provider will be disadvantaged in the 2011/12 annual reporting period due to the staged introduction of the EIPP data collection tools.
