Homelessness Agencies Struggle to Meet New Accommodation Requests - Report
A report to the Federal Government on homelessness has been described as ‘damning’ as welfare agencies report high ‘turn-away’ numbers.
On a typical day in Australia, 59% of people who make a new request for immediate accommodation from government-funded specialist homelessness agencies are turned away, according to a new report by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare.
