SACS MODERN AWARD

In the last week we have had a few enquiries from members about the SACS Modern Award or the SCHADS.  The NCOSS document doesn’t seem to explain what SCHADS means, but importantly:

• STRESSES RE-CLASSIFICATIONS NEEDS TO OCCUR FROM 1 JULY 
• Advises that forums will be held around NSW in March where reclassification will be discussed and a reclassification guide provided to organisations and staff.
• Sets out a 5 step  process for re-classification where the employee and employer can make separate assessments concerning reclassification.  
• AND points out that an employee’s  application for re-classification  needs to be filed with their employer by  30 April.

In NSW the ASU, NCOSS, Jobs Australia and National Disability Service have an agreement about how reclassification should proceed and all these organisations websites will provide useful information.

We will highlight developments and provide important general information through our website over the coming months.
